Gili Trawangan – Indonesia- Part II

gili2feat

As I promised in the first post today some links about the places we stayed, ate and had fun on Gili Islands.

Coming to Gili: we used Blue Water Express as they had great reviews on tripadvisor. I’d agree with the TA users. Trip was excellent, as were all parts of dealing with this company.

On the island: we used horse cart twice, when we had to travel from boat to hotel with all the luggage. Check the prices, the price they give people getting from the boats is three times what they normally charge. Then we rented bikes for the four days we stayed. Paid probably less than for a cup of coffee at home 😉

Food: I wouldn’t call Gili a mekka for a foodie, but you get you hands on some fresh young coconut, grilled fish or prawns, great smoothies and sates. There is a place with great coffee, which always puts me in great mood.

my absolute fav: Kayu Cafe

Wilson’s Bar our hotel had a good restaurant- chicken sates were my favs

Paradise Sunset Bar a must visit for amazing sunset, our swing sunset photos were taken there

We had a great snorkelling trip with I love GT company- great guys, the best day of our holiday.

Last but definitely not least: our hotel. I wanted to stay in some place small and quiet. I found Wilson’s Retreat on TA and then again it was mentioned on Lonely Planet. The prices were lower than usual due to rainy season and I decided to go for it 🙂 I couldn’t be happier- it was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Amazing house(pictures follow) that felt like home, private pool(yes!. yes! and yes!) We had all the privacy one can dream of. A bathroom with a view(stars or sun depending on the time you shower ;)) Places like that need all the word of mouth they can get 🙂

More pictures for you guys!
