My garden- introduction.

featured

I grew up in a house that had a small garden and I was always surrounded with plants. My mother loved growing things and spent most of her free time taking care of hers. As I kid I hated helping her in the garden- little did I know then huh? But I loved spending time outdoors, the smell of soil in spring, eating fresh strawberries from the garden, playing along the trees.

When my daughter was born we lived in a flat and I couldn’t imagine she could miss all those experiences I had as a child. So we built a house and started a garden when she was four. Now she’s eleven and our garden is starting to look mature. The plants are getting bigger every year, some thrive, some die. We planted each of those by ourselves so when one dies after winter or because of sickness it’s not easy to look at it. But I guess it’s a part of nature. I learned to accept it through the years.

Few years ago I started growing fruit and vegetables- the kitchen garden is growing every year=there is less and less grass in the garden. But the taste of that food is so amazing I can live with a slightly smaller lawn. I will write more about vegetable and fruit patch in the future.

I will also be writing more about parts of the garden later- we have a pink part, a grass part, a greenhouse, shady part plus lavender patch.

I’ll leave you with a few pictures for now- meet our garden 🙂
