As the warmer months start we get into grilling outside- our favourite butcher has got the best meat I have ever tasted, so we’re indulging in steaks and burgers. This week I also bought some unshelled fava beans and grilled them too. That was a splendid idea. I will not even get into the whole recipe box today. For steaks- I got them out of the fridge 1 hour before grilling, seasoned it really well with sea salt and pepper(really well!), grilled them in super hot grill for 3-4 minutes on one side(turn them with tongs or a spatula), let them rest for a few minutes. For fava beans(broad beans)- I washed them and put them in a large bowl, added few handfuls of chopped mint and cilantro(coriander), 3 garlic cloves(minced), 1t of chilli flakes, salt, pepper and some olive oil. Stir with your hands until the pods are covered in the mixture, grill with the steaks-4 minutes on one side. Serve with lime wedges.
