It’s blueberry and bilberry season here so another blueberry recipe for you guys- blueberry banana smoothie. I love it for quick breakfast. You will love this on a diet. It fills you up for 3 hours and I often have two of these smoothies for my first and second breakfast. My family members take one with them to work or school- I use mug jars with lid for transport.
Blueberry banana smoothie
Why is it healthy? Blueberries give you vitamin C, K and manganese as well as fiber and flavanoids. Banana gives us vitamin B6,manganese,vitamin C,potassium,fiber,copper and biotin. Almond milkt contains calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, and zinc. The other nutrients available in this milk include vitamins such as vitamin C, B-6, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, folate and vitamin E. Greek yogurt will give you calcium and protein as well as probiotics. Sunflower seeds will give you healthy fat and protein. The seeds are a rich source of protein, fiber , B vitamins and vitamin E. They also contain high levels of dietary minerals, including phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, iron and zinc.
I mostly love that’s so easy to make, tastes great and I can make six servings in just 3 minutes, so I have a lot more time for other things. I truly recommend for hectic and busy days! Since the season will soon be over I buy a lot of blueberries and bilberries and freeze them in little bags for wintertime. That way I can have the blueberry banana smoothie all year long!
- 2 bananas
- cup of blueberries (in Europe I prefer using bilberry)
- half cup sunflower seeds soaked overnight
- 1 cup almond milk
- half cup Greek yogurt
- 2 probiotic capsules
- Blend all ingredietns in a blender until smooth. Drink and enjoy. Serves two people. If you find cositency too thick, add more almond milk and blend again.
